mojo 78/ Oh Baby!

Hi everyone I am sorry that I was so long posting this week, but a week I have had. I started researching my family and was on the hurt for my great grandparents, I have been to Newfoundland and England. I was excited and happy to find my relatives, it is interesting to see were you came from, if just one single people in your family was not there you would not be here. So my card is about new beginnings (a new baby). Life starts with one small unique person and life goes from there. Friends of mine are having a new baby, so I wanted a card that would reflect new beginning, not only life but a new season. So happy spring and I hope that you enjoy this new season and new beginning. The poem inside reads "This little tiny baby was sent from God above, to fill our hearts with happiness, and touch our lives with love, he must have known we'd give our all and always do our best to give our precious baby love, and be grateful and so blessed. " So is true with each passing season, life is precious and we are grateful for what God has giving us. So here is the ingredients that I used, card stock by Core'dination, DSP by imaginisce Fairest of them all Royal Procession, rub-ons by Sandylion Baby, ink is so saffron, stamp set is Insppired by Nature, and the ribbon is white taffeta all from SU, the butterflies are punches out using Martha Stewart's butterfly punch. MOJO76/"Mother"

Happy Mojo Monday everyone:) Is this not the best challenge yet, I am so excited that there will be more then just one winner. Good luck to everyone!!
This is my entry. I have been reading a lot of poems lately and I recently came across this lovely little poem by Edgar Allen Poe and I fell in love with it, It says so much and just a few words, there is none so devotional as that of a "Mother" to quote the last line of the poem. Our lives are so busy that we only stop to think about our mothers and what she did for us so seldom. I try to call my mom at least once a week, just to see how her week was, that is the least that I can do for her because she gave so much and is still giving. So this card is for her my greatest supporter and fan my mom. All the card stock is by Core' dinations Retro Mod Squad, the DSP is from K&Company the Brenda Walton Collection, the sentiment is printed off the Internet that I printed on velum, the ribbon I got from my mother-in -law, the pearls are from Hero Arts and the swirl are punched out using my swirl flourish punch by EK success. To all the mother out there I say thank you for just being you, you give the greatest gift that one single person can give"LOVE".

OCCC You are one of a Kind

Good afternoon fellow card makers. This was the hardest card for me to make, first I could not get the mates centered, then I changed the DSP to a different pattern, so that did not look good with the color of card base that I had, so I just started all over again, I set it a side until today to have a new prospective on the way that I wanted it to look. I started with a dark brown card base and a burgundy DSP That is by My Mind's Eye "Home" Floral/Blue Paper, the DSP on the scalloped square nestie is K&Company Christmas Cheer Designer Mat Pad, a lot of this does not look like your usual Christmas paper, and I love to use different DSP together to give it that unique look. The center is on whisper white card stock and embossed using my cuttlebug folder from the Fancy Corners. I colored the the negative side with my markers then I embossed it, these corners fit perfectly in the third size scallop squares of my Classic scallop square sm.
I used the sentiment from the One of a Kind stamp set by SU, I used my markers to color the sentiment and matted it on my labels two nesties. I used chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon and I punches out two swirls with my swirl punch. This has been an awesome challenge for me, I just love the new ways that these challenges help get my creative juices flowing and thinking outside the box. Have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for looking!

The best is yet to be

Good Afternoon everyone! I was so
excited this week, I have been getting ready to go back to school. That is an amazing feeling. My mother and sister both look after seniors and I have always enjoyed helping people, I worked retail for 20yrs and I always found that I
had more time for the elderly. I feel that the best is yet to be, you never know when God is going to open a window or door for you, I recently injured myself, and had to stay home, only to find out that when I could go back to work my position was no long there. So here I am making a career change and loving it.
This is my card for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #54, sorry I have nothing with cupcakes, but these color remind me of cupcakes. I used Basic Grey pattern paper Sultry, the card stock is from Bazzill, the ink color are Rose Royal, Rose Red and Always Artichoke by SU. The stamp set are Upsy Daisy and Best Yet also by SU, the ribbon is 7/8 white grograin ribbon from Fabricville, and the little pearls are by Hero Arts. Hope you enjoy looking :)
