Mojo75/Shoot for the moon

Happy Mojo Monday!! It's that time again, Monday just comes so fast, but I am so excited to see what the new sketch is. I was especially excited this week because as soon as I seen the sketch I knew what paper and what saying I was going to use. I recently picked up some paper on sale and thought it would be great to make a card for a young man. I love this saying, I had some stars all ready punched out and when I picked up this paper I was excited to see that it almost matched the color of stars that I had. So here is the recipe for this card, the card stock is from Core'dinations "Reminisce", the DSP is My Mind's Eye from there Tres Jolie collections, the star are punched out using a small star punch and a large star punch, the small star are chocolate chip and Baja Breeze, the large star is also punched out in Baja Breeze, these colors are from Stampin" Up, the sentiment I printed on my computer. I really like the way this card has turned out, I hope that you do too! Have an awesome week, have fun creating!!! Thanks for looking:)

OCCC You are one of a Kind

Good afternoon fellow card makers. This was the hardest card for me to make, first I could not get the mates centered, then I changed the DSP to a different pattern, so that did not look good with the color of card base that I had, so I just started all over again, I set it a side until today to have a new prospective on the way that I wanted it to look. I started with a dark brown card base and a burgundy DSP That is by My Mind's Eye "Home" Floral/Blue Paper, the DSP on the scalloped square nestie is K&Company Christmas Cheer Designer Mat Pad, a lot of this does not look like your usual Christmas paper, and I love to use different DSP together to give it that unique look. The center is on whisper white card stock and embossed using my cuttlebug folder from the Fancy Corners. I colored the the negative side with my markers then I embossed it, these corners fit perfectly in the third size scallop squares of my Classic scallop square sm.
I used the sentiment from the One of a Kind stamp set by SU, I used my markers to color the sentiment and matted it on my labels two nesties. I used chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon and I punches out two swirls with my swirl punch. This has been an awesome challenge for me, I just love the new ways that these challenges help get my creative juices flowing and thinking outside the box. Have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for looking!

The best is yet to be

Good Afternoon everyone! I was so
excited this week, I have been getting ready to go back to school. That is an amazing feeling. When you are young you can hardly wait to get out of school, and then when your older you wish you could back to school. I never thought at 40 I would be changed my career. My mother and sister both look after seniors and I have always enjoyed helping people, I worked retail for 20yrs and I always found that I
had more time for the elderly. I feel that the best is yet to be, you never know when God is going to open a window or door for you, I recently injured myself, and had to stay home, only to find out that when I could go back to work my position was no long there. So here I am making a career change and loving it.
This is my card for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #54, sorry I have nothing with cupcakes, but these color remind me of cupcakes. I used Basic Grey pattern paper Sultry, the card stock is from Bazzill, the ink color are Rose Royal, Rose Red and Always Artichoke by SU. The stamp set are Upsy Daisy and Best Yet also by SU, the ribbon is 7/8 white grograin ribbon from Fabricville, and the little pearls are by Hero Arts. Hope you enjoy looking :)
